Default Dandelion & Nettle Roots

I bought a pack of Naturals Dandelion & Nettle Roots thinking that I would scatter some around the cage for foraging alongside other herbs etc., however the pieces are much bigger than I expected. I also understand that dandelion roots can be fed for constipation so I'm vary wary about giving my ham a lot in case it upsets his belly.

Any thoughts on how or whether I could feed these to him (he's a young Syrian)? Maybe break them up or give one stick at a time for chewing?

I'd give them during out of cage time They enjoy chewing them - they won't get too much during shorter periods like that.
