Any recommendations for food for my Dwarf?
Hello there!
So I'm in a bit of a situation at the moment, that I'm worried about.
I went to order more food for my hammie since I'm running a bit low. I've been getting the current food from Rodipet, but they've stopped delivering to the UK for the time being. I emailed them, but because of the virus and Brexit situation, they're not expecting to deliver to the UK again until at *least* mid-January.
So then I checked Zooplus for the Bunny Dwarf Hamster Dream Expert food (which my last hamster was on), but they've been out of stock and I'm worried in case it's going to be difficult to get a hold of it, since a lot of shops seem to be struggling with the panic buying again.
So... what other options do I have? I know quality foods are seriously lacking for hamsters, even more so for Dwarfs.
I'm kicking myself for not buying a few packs last time, but I didn't quite have the money when I put the order in, and stupidly assumed that it wouldn't be a problem to get more. :s

Re: Any recommendations for food for my Dwarf?
Seems like rodipet, getzoo, bunny dreams are all out at the moment then, I thought it would go like this.
There are a few options, but they aren't as good as the above, but will be better than other options.
There is Puur, but that is a ridiculous price on amazon but ebay seems to have it at a better price- you might want to look around for better prices.
There is also a dwarf food mix on rat rations that you could look at, but they are closed till the 4th jan now.
I think there is another company that I have heard of, it's a lady that makes her own after lots of research, but I can't remember the name at the moment. If I remember I will get back to you.

If i couldn't get any dwarf mix at all, i'd feed Harry Hamster after crushing it with a pestle and mortar.

Re: Any recommendations for food for my Dwarf?
Just having a browse at ratrations I see they now sell a dwarf mix from Mixerama which should be pretty good, I haven’t tried that one specifically but their mixes are all good so migh tbe worth a try when they reopen after the holidays.
hamster mix - dwarf
They’re also doing a syrian mix from Mixerama if anyone is interested

I had a look at this last night and was very tempted to order it for both my dwarfs and Syrians but had placed a Zooplus order before they run out of stock. Mixerama has better ratings than Rodipet on the Continent. Definately one to keep in mind.

Everything I want from rat rations is out of stock, including both mouse and hamster foods.

I don't have loads of experience with dwarves, but I feed my winter white the Harry hamster mix, and he seems to have no problems with it. it is easy enough to find as well, pets at home defo has it, and I've seen it in some other places as well.
