Complete diets for a syrian
Originally i was going to feed my future hamster a mix between protein pellets and higgins sunburst. After doing a bit of research and advice on here it turns out that's not a great diet for them. Can anyone recommend a good variety mix along with I'm sure ill have to add in pellets for added protein.
Thank you so much!

Re: Complete diets for a syrian
Higgins Vita Garden is a great food. It has proper nutrition, decent variety for a US food, and is not loaded with dried fruits like Higgins Sunburst is. Do not add Mazuri or any other "protein pellet" - these are not high quality foods and should be replaced with high quality whole food protein sources such as egg or freeze dried meats/shrimp(Pure Bites).

What AmityvilleHams mentioned is all what I feed my guy and he loves it He does also get a few healthy non sugary treats too. I have a dwarf hamster.

Should pure bites be fed everyday? Such as a 50 50 mix?

Re: Complete diets for a syrian
I wouldn't do half food and half Pure Bites if that's what you mean, but they can definitely be fed daily.
