Burgess?(:
What are your best food recommendations for a dwarf hamster?
My pet shop has loads of options for syrians but only really burgess for dwarves is that a good food option?
I've been using Harry hamster at the moment as I've asked my vet and she said it's fine for them to eat Syrian food I was thinking of adding in a little dwarf mix.
But if burgess isn't a good option I'll just stick to Harry hamster(:

Your best possible option for dwarf food without making your own food:

Burgess wouldn't be a great option as it is a pellet only diet which isn't suitable for hamsters due to lack of dietary enrichment(it does have potential use if ground up and moistened for ill hamsters or hamsters with no teeth though). It is also a better food than Harry Hamster, since there are only whole foods(no pellets) and no artificial dyes.

Re: Burgess?(:
My Dwarves have been eating Harry Hamster recentely as I'd bought it for my diabetics but now need to use it up and they manage with it just fine. Even my tiny harvest mice have managed to eat some of it on occasions.
I know that a lot of people prefer to buy dwarf specific mixes because of the size of the pieces but don't worry, there's no reason why a hamster with a healthy set of teeth can't manage the larger pieces that are in other mixes and the larger pieces can actually help to wear the teeth down.

Okay thank you he seems to enjoy Harry hamster as of now and although the bigger pieces take him longer to eat than my Syrian he still gets there happily and seems to enjoy it
