Pumpkin Seeds
Hi Guys
I have bought a pumpkin and would like to keep the seeds for my hamster. As they are fresh seeds, how do I prepare them ready for him to eat? Dry them, roast them....?
Thanks in advance for any help I receive!

Re: Pumpkin Seeds
You can dry them naturally or dry them in a low temp oven your Hammy should love them.

Thanks! How long would you suggest in a low temp oven? And how long can they be stored for afterwards?
Many thanks

Re: Pumpkin Seeds
Hi
I did this last year and just placed them on a towel to air dry. I've had them in a tupperware and from the way Theodore still grabs them from me, they must still be good to eat!

Re: Pumpkin Seeds
I bought a pumpkin this year too and kept the seeds. I first washed them to get rid of most of the gunk and stickiness. Then I spread them out on paper towels and left them overnight. They were still a little damp after that, so I put them in the airing cupboard for another night. I don't think you need to roast them for animal consumption.
