Re: Which is Better Pelleted Food?
Anyone?? Please respond. I want to know which one is better. My hamster doesn't really seem to have a preference and I want to know which one is more nutritious.

Re: Which is Better Pelleted Food?
I'm in the UK so neither of these brands are available for me but I do know that Oxbow has a LOT of hay in it, which hams don't need and it isn't considered a suitable pellet. I haven't heard of the other one.
I think Mazuri rat blocks are supposed to be the best go-to pellet in the US.

Re: Which is Better Pelleted Food?
There’s been a lot of issues with oxbow causing malnutrition recently, Mazuri are probably your best option

Re: Which is Better Pelleted Food?
I'm in the US and I use Envigro blocks (previously known as Harlan Teklad 201 . It can be ordered online from Amazon and other websites. I'm on a hamster FB group and was told that The Power of 5 Food has 23% protein, which is good for younger hamsters (under 6 months of age), but as hamsters age, they should have less protein. The Harlan blocks I use have 18% protein. Many people use Mazuri because it is easily available in pet stores. Many people have stopped using Oxbow for the reasons mentioned above.

Envigro and Harlan Teklad are the same thing. They just changed their name.
Both Mazuri and Harlan Teklad (Envigro) are good foods. I’ve always fed Harlan (Envigro), so i continue to use it. I haven’t used Mazuri before, but I know it is widely used within the hamster community in the US. You should be good with either one.

Mazuri is available at Petco or online at Chewy.com. I believe that people use the Rat & Mouse blocks, but I’m not 100% sure, so you might want to do a bit more research.
Harlan Teklad 2018 is available on Amazon, therat.com, and Etsy. I usually buy mine off of Amazon or The Rat shop.
