Default Re: Do Hamsters Need a Seed Mix and a Pelleted Diet??

It's not the greatest food by the look of it but it has plenty of protein, gives the vitamins, she likes it and it's safe for you So probably best to continue with that as the main mix but give some fresh extras each day for variety. She will love a little bit of veg each day (just a tiny bit! Thumbnail sized piece - eg broccoli, carrot, cucumber, baby corn, a pea. I prefer not to use cabbage or lettuce as too much of that can be bad for them. Also the occasional bit of fruit - a blueberry, a small piece of strawberry, apple or banana (no skin or pips on the apple - apple pips are poisonous to them). Also scatter some pumpkin seeds once or twice a week, she'll love that.
