Bottle or bowl ?
Ive always used a bottle for my hamster but recently ive started to want to try a bowl after research and youtube videos. Any advice or any pros and cons youve found with either bowl or bottle?

Re: Bottle or bowl ?
I think bowls are preferable & given the choice all my hams use them but you do need to find a spot in the cage, on a shelf or somewhere it won't easily get full of substrate or get tipped over.
It's much more natural for a hamster to drink from a bowl rather than licking a ball bearing! Bowls are more hygienic & easier to clean.
The size & depth of the bowl is quite important, nothing too large & a height that is easy for them to drink from.
ETA I forgot to say if you decide to try a bowl it's best to use both for a while & see how your ham gets on rather than just doing a straight swap.

Re: Bottle or bowl ?
Agree with bowl. Bottles can get stuck too which really isn’t uncommon so for that reason alone I’ve put a bowl in, even when using a bottle. If used sensibly there really aren’t any serious risks with using a bowl.

I use a bottle and bowl so hamster can choose and both are changed over every night or early morning while he’s awake x

Re: Bottle or bowl ?
I use both as well. My roborovski, Mallow prefers a bottle where as my syrian, Tarak prefers a bowel!

Re: Bottle or bowl ?
For all of my hamsters, I try both.
Some of them use both and some just use one or the other.
Offer both and see what they do, each hamster is unique
