If you do give it I'd give only a very teeeeeeny bit like half a pinkie nail size. I think you might be better giving other protein rich treats though like a little bit of plain chicken, a bit of the white of a boiled egg or a cube of tofu as the cows milk in cheese does not agree with some hamsters tummies.

i gave Peggy some cheese once some time ago. She didn't eat it straight away but i left it in her cage and she ate it later on. She wasn't crazy about it like she is for cracker and veggies. So i've never bothered with it again
So i'd say yh if you want to try some just for a change, but really i'm sure they'd much prefer something a bit more beneficial.

Chewbacca loves cheese (though he is Syrian). I give him erm maybe two "gratings". Just a tiny tiny bit. He eats it straight away too, no storing the good stuff.

boil an egg and cut about a 1cm cube off the white. Tinned sweetcorn is fine. Just maybe 2-3 bits. They like dried mealworms too. The bird food type.
