Default Mealworms

I noticed some people feed their hamsters mealworms.

Is this food okay for syrian hamsters? Is there anything I should watch out for?

Yes, mealworms are perfectly fine! They make a great snack, and can add in natural sources of protein (hamsters eat some insects in the wild). A few mealworms a week can be great as a treat/addition to a hamster’s diet

They're fine for syrians but not all like them as much as the dwarf species that tend to go crazy for them, worth a try though.
Best to use the dried ones just in case you were considering live ones, you have to pinch the heads of those as they bite!!

Yeah I use to feed mealworms to my Leopard Gecko (Now passed) and I was aware of the pinching... just wasn't sure about nutrition.

Thank you cypher and drago
