Default Re: Water bowl or water bottle

I used both with mine. They all preferred bowls but had a tendency to burrow underneath them or bury them with substrate so I always kept the bottle there too as a back up. At the moment Bailey just has a bowl and to stop him kicking substrate in I have put some large flat stones beside it and round it. This also means he wears his nails down every time he drinks which is handy. I have a foster-ham too at the mo, a Syrian called Billy who initially had both a bottle and a bowl. His behaviour was a bit disturbed for a while as he is a rescue and he kept attacking his bottle spout in the middle of the night and waking me up so he just has a bowl now and has adapted to it fine. He doesn't dig much so as long as I always refill it every day and pick out any substrate that's got in he seems to be fine although if I go away I'll put a bottle back in just in case.
