Homemade dry carrot
I have made some dry carrot pieces on the oil filled heater at home for my hamsters. I have also got some raw unsalted peaconut, pumpkin seeds, and sunflower seeds for the food mix.
Please give me some advices what else treats I could make for my hamsters.
I have recently watched Erin's video on youtube and I saw her feeding hamster the yogourt drops, is it good for hamster? Should I get one pack for mines?

Re: Homemade dry carrot
Yogurt drops really depend on which ones are bought. The majority of store bought drops will have artificial dyes, unsafe preservatives("E&C approved" hides BHA/BHT/ethoxyquin which is known to cause cancer among a variety of other health problems),artificial sweeteners and or processed sugars like dextrose, maltodextrin, fructose, sucrose, sorbitol,an d more.
Dairy is best avoided for hamsters anyways, they don't digest it very well like many other species. You could try a high quality carob powder combined with high quality coconut oil(non-hydrogenated preferably virgin)frozen to make chocolate free drops.

Re: Homemade dry carrot
Looks delish! I use non-fat plain Greek yogurt a lot in treats. It has a lot of protein but is one of the least fat, sugary yogurts you can find. I have a bunch of recipes on YouTube
