Is this ok?
Trying Mushu out on a new kind of Applaws. I am 99.99% sure that it's safe, but it contains "chicken broth" which I wasn't sure about.

Re: Is this ok?
I tend to just give fresh chicken or other fresh treats I'd also wonder what was in the chicken broth. It could be salty.

Re: Is this ok?
I would have thought it would be ok as broth is just the juices from the meat and bones. I wouldn't take my word for it though as if it was me I'd be asking the question too. I'm sure someone who knows for definite will reply then we'll both know
ETA Serendipity has a point there could be other things added to it.

Re: Is this ok?
I personally have never used canned foods for this particular reason. I always thought it would be too salty and just overall gross to feed a hamster. However, maybe if you somehow rinsed it you could rid of the juices? I don't really know either, but somebody is bound to

Re: Is this ok?
I'd personally say it's fine but you could look for plain chicken in water instead if you really wanted to be 100 percent sure of safety

Re: Is this ok?
Thanks everyone. Very good points. Don’t think I will risk it. My cats will be happy though!

Re: Is this ok?
I use that from time to time & it's fine, it's just the water that the chicken is cooked in or rather the natural juices, a very trustworthy brand so I think "nothing added, nothing taken away" means just that!

Re: Is this ok?
Oh thanks Cypher! So, you have used this exact type of canned Applaws before? If so, I think I'll give Mushu some. Of course, my cats will still get pretty much the whole can!

Re: Is this ok?
I've been using it for years, I know other members have too.
