Re: Sprouts three ways!
Those look really great SKB
The problem with the sunflower seeds might just be down to whether they are still viable or not, I tried some of the larger sunflower seeds in my sprout jar recently & only about half of them grew, if they'd been in sand they might well have gone mouldy too.

Re: Sprouts three ways!
You've done real good SKB, Pumpkin showed her gratitude by having fun with them and eating them. That says it all.

Re: Sprouts three ways!
Thanks cypher, Thin Lizzy and BorisPasha.
Cypher - I also think it might be the sunflower seeds - I didn't sprout these ones in sand but I used a jar and followed the instructions from your post. Although they didn't go as mouldy as the ones I did in sand. I'm trying another batch and see whether they work but I do need to get some new sunflower seeds soon as Pumpkin's sunflower seeds container is getting low.

Re: Sprouts three ways!
Those are looking good
They look wet enough to me & it's nice to see how they're growing, I would probably feed them while the sprouts are still small, maybe a little green showing if you like but they might be better like that rather than grown into a bigger plant.
I haven't done linseed or chia for ages, you're making me think I should do some more now

Re: Sprouts three ways!
I think my buckwheat has maybe gotten too long when I compare to Cypher's picture? It will have been growing for 2 days come lunchtime today. Is it still ok to feed to the hams or would I be best to start again?

Re: Sprouts three ways!
Yay, good, I'm glad I can still use them. They seem to have went from nothing to something very quickly lol...now all I need is for those boys to wake up so I can try them out
