Flower treats (Pets At Home)
This is probably a silly question but I brought a packet of these - http://www.petsathome.com/webapp/wcs...mal-topper-14g - from Pets At Home before Christmas, they were on intro offer for £1 a little while ago.
I didn't think Joey would eat them or anything, but thought they'd be something different to scatter around the cage as a bit of enrichment etc.
I've been putting a pinch in his tank every week or so, they always disappear but I presumed he was just adding them to his nest (as he won't eat anything hay-like and always leaves the dry herbage stuff I add to his food). Anyway I've finished the pack now and was cleaning him out today.
I expected to find all the flowers in his nest but there was literally none anywhere! He has eaten the whole lot.
Is this really ok? I'm a bit worried as that's alot of flowers for one Robo to eat in about 3/4 weeks! Obviously I wouldn't have kept giving them if I knew he was actually eating them all!

Re: Flower treats (Pets At Home)
They're fine. Besides if he was going to get poorly from them he would have been poorly the day after he first ate some, I.e 3-4 wks ago xx

Re: Flower treats (Pets At Home)
Both cornflower and sunflower petals are safe, and can sometimes be considered beneficial to hams. It's totally fine to give him this treat, hope he enjoys it!

They are totally fine & it sounds as though Joey really enjoyed them.
I don't know if you've ever looked at German foods barley but flowers often make up a fair proportion of the mix.

Re: Flower treats (Pets At Home)
Mixerama have some really nice mixes, I tried the MYPS dwarf mix while I was working on my own & it's really good but I think our hams are so used to a very different kind of mix it can be hard for them to switch over & it would need to be done gradually or given in combination with a more normal UK mix, they do have a great range of ingredients & smell amazing!
This is the robo mix which is similar but not the same as the dwarf mix.

Re: Flower treats (Pets At Home)
It looks like the whole site is down right now, they worked fine when I posted earlier so maybe check back another time.

Re: Flower treats (Pets At Home)
I think I'll get these flower treats for Harvey next time I'm in P@H.
