Is flour safe for hamsters?

I'm planning on making some hamster treats and I was thinking about using flour to bind the seeds together (I want to avoid honey so they're suitable for diabetes prone hamsters) but I'm not sure how safe it is. I'm assuming it's fine since it's just wheat?

I'd just be using regular plain flour btw

Flour is fine,as long as it doesn't have any added ingredients and is from a safe source like as you've said wheat

Plain flour is fine, but not self raising flour as that has raising agents added (usually bicarbonate of soda type things which are bad for hammies). Rice flour and potato flour are ok too and you can use egg to bind Assuming they are going to be baked.

I'll have to try the recipe at some point then!I could definitely see it being useful for more than just hamster owners,since it could be used with loads of other small pets and even birds as long as the recipe is modified to use things suitable to species and nutritional needs
