Re: Best food for dwarf winter white or hybrid hamsters in the US
Is Hazel Hamster Tasty Mix ok for a dwarf hamster? I found it at Petco. I read somewhere you can take out the corn & peas to lower sugar.

Hazel hamster should be ok for a dwarf ham, you may find some of the biscuit type bits are a little large for tiny mouths & need breaking up a bit in a pestle & mortar or something.
You should never remove anything from a mix as you will end up with something that is no longer nutritionally balanced or providing what your ham needs, corn & peas aren't that high in sugars & also contain important levels of protein, complex carbs, fibre, vitamins & minerals.

Re: Best food for dwarf winter white or hybrid hamsters in the US
My hybrids have the Burgess Dwarf Hamster Harvest which they love, and the food is all smaller pieces so it's a better size for them. They used to have Harry Hamster but they weren't eating a lot of the larger pieces because they were too big.

I plan to order some Burgess Dwarf food after we get through at least 1 of the 2 bags of Hazel Hamster food I bought. I can see what you mean, Trooper is eating it but leaving a lot of the bigger pieces.

You can give the larger pieces a tap in a pestle & mortar to break them up a bit without smashing them to crumbs!
