Food mix
Both Goose and Zero are being picky. They usually leave all of the dried peas, and some of the red pellets, and my mum's suggested method of "don't put out more food until they've eaten the bits they don't like" isn't working. (I feel mean )
They currently have the Pets At Home own brand food, which is 17% protein. I was considering getting pellet food where it's all combined, or trying to find a different food with less peas... Suggestions?
Also, is it worth getting a dwarf specific mix?

Re: Food mix
Dwarf specific food is actually very important.Something like Burgess would be ideal,as the seeds are appropriate sizes for dwarf hamsters while if you feed something with larger pieces the big pieces can get ignored,in turn making it seem like your hamsters are selectively feeding when in reality they just can't eat big pieces

Re: Food mix
I haven't used the P@H brand myself so don't know how big the pieces are but it does contain a lot of alfalfa & peas so I think you could do better with the Burgess dwarf mix, that does contain a lot of millet but most dwarf hams like that & it's a healthy seed suitable for them, the other ingredients are all good the only thing that tends to get left is the grass pellets, there are some peas but not a huge amount.
Pellet/all in one foods aren't ideal imo as you really want to encourage foraging if you can & you would probably need to break them up for tiny mouths too.
