Re: Humans eating mealworms!
Well, I'll leave the mealworms to the ones that enjoy them, Pixie & Tinkerbell. I have a hard enough time not being totally creeped out when I'm forced to touch them and feed them to the hamsters , wouldn't catch one going anywhere near my face, nope. No sir! xD x

Re: Humans eating mealworms!
My boyfriend is actually from Zambia and thinks eating bugs isn't even a big deal- he liked them salted as a snack. But knowing how wriggly and stuff they are when they're alive is so off putting, I don't think I could get my head past it

Re: Humans eating mealworms!
The reason why I don't feed meal worms to PROVIDE Princesss is because 1. They smell horrible at the pet store. 2. They're so gross I cannot imagine them in my house. 3. I've tried feeding them and Princess hates them.
I cannot imagine a human eating them by their own free will. Gross

Re: Humans eating mealworms!
OK to make some think twice about enjoying that nice yummy Hershsey Chocolate bar.
Our wonderful Government allows any Chocolate plant to include(Yes INCLUDE) bugs in the chocolate up to a certain percentage. That said if you enjoyed that Bar of Milk Chocolate, Munched down that bag of M&Ms, or yummmm devoured that Dove Bar you 100% just ate Bugs along with the Chocolate LOL. Cricket powder has been used to boost Protein levels in many baked products and is actually a very good source of Protein for Diabetics as it is sugar free. Now to convince me to eat a whole cricket I can see is a Cricket ummm doubt I could unless I was starving and had nothing else I could eat.

Re: Humans eating mealworms!
I bet Cadbury's don't do that lol! Think I'll stick to plain chocolate just in case
Speaking of M&M's you just reminded me of our kitchen cupboard lol. In the Uk there's an advert on TV for M&M's where someone opens the kitchen door and the M&M's kind of jump out and attack them. Our kitchen food cupboard used to be like that - every time I opened the door something jumped out at me or a tube of chocolate sprinkles fell out or something. I always used to think of that advert! Now of course I have a clinical cupboard full of lock and lock boxes so it's moth proof. No fun any more lol.
Actually I don't mind the idea of cricket protein as a powder, but the idea of crunchy whole things with heads - ugh!
Here's the advert for US members if you haven't seen it

Re: Humans eating mealworms!
I think they are a bit like Smarties lol! I can't remember it's so long since I've had any - I think they are like a slightly bigger version of Smarties - I'm sure they used to be called "Treats" and then they renamed them. There used to be choclolate treats (similar to smarties), Peanut Treats (peanut in the middle) and raisin treats.
