1) It completely depends on the hamster - they are the first thing that Willow (Syrian) will attacak in her bowl but my mum's hamster (also a Syrian) avoids them like the Plague! Some Syrians don't actually like them - but some dwarfs don't either! Dwarfs are just more likely to take to them

2) Personally, I feed about half a teaspoon (so around 5 or 6) every time I refill Willow's bowl, which is about every three or four days. I wouldn't recommend feeding any more than this because, although they are high in proteins, they are also high in fats

3) To be honest, I wouldn't buy it - hamsters tend to like plain mealworms more so there's no point really

4) This probably isn't the smallest bag, but I found a 100g bag for a pound at Poundland - it's cheap and has lasted me more than two months! If Sweep doesn't like them then I'm sure the wild birds would greatly appreciate them and it's not a massive amount of money to waste anyway

Well, Sweep didn't like the mealworm his friends Jessie and James sent him a while ago. But since he's been having some of the Burgess food mixed in with his mix the mealworms are the first thing he takes!! He's a strange one!

I have 2 kinds of meal worms, the ones for reptiles (dried) which are yellow and the bird meal worms which are a reddish brown. They seem to really like the bird meal worms but heard they are made in such a way that they are higher in fat (not sure?) I mostly feed them meal worms made for reptiles. They are a little more expensive but they both might be the same nutritionally? Again I'm not positive there is any difference between the two type of meal worms as far as one being healthier than the other?

There's most likely little to no difference except possibly how they're dried.I'm not entirely sure on that though. However, there is only a single species of mealworm and they're all the same exact thing as long as there are no additives

I don't know if they still do it but at one time at least some mealworms sold for birds were fried so a lot higher in fat & quite possibly more appealing if a lot less healthy!

From what I can tell, the Burgess mealworms seem very high quality. I don't know about the ones Jessie and James sent Sweep but the Burgess do seem much higher quality than my Poundland ones.
