Millet / Millet Spray?

I think I've given millet spray to previous hamsters, but I honestly can't remember! So, do Syrian hamsters like it? And if I was to get some, how much should they have at a time? Not sure if it's fattening or not?

I know my hammies love millet seeds. I buy the pouches with long strings of seeds & just cut them to however much I want to give them. Millet isn't fattening I don't believe & can be fed daily. It's actually a healthy food for hammies.

You can also buy millet seeds (only seeds) at health food stores where I live. They prefer the long millet sprays though!

Was thinking of getting some millet spray. Found a place online where I can buy just 1 so can try it with Sweep, and if he likes it will get more, (Getting more things on there too otherwise would be silly just to buy 1 LOL) ... Do you use red or white?

Percy (syrian) doesn't pay much attention to it. I have a few strings of it around the cage as decorations but he has only nibbled it a bit. I would recommend getting it though! You never know

I use yellow millet and my Syrian hamster, Sherbet, loves it! So it worth a try I would recommend getting one of each colour as Sweep may favour one over the other as Sherbet didn't have any real interest in the red but eats the yellow (which I thought was strange!)

Yellow? The site I am looking at only has red or white! Where can I get yellow from?

I got mine from The Range also I know pets at home sell them. You can get them singularly at both or you can select how many you want to.

But I think white is the same as the yellow ones!

I only have one option to get the yellow color, no other colors are available to me that I know of?

i got millet spray hoping milo (syrian) would like it but, unfortunately he dosnt pay any attention to it. He tried to use it as a nesting material at first, but when that didn't work out he ignored it and its been like that since, mine was also yellow though

I think it tends to be more of a favourite with the dwarf hams but some syrians enjoy it so always worth a try.
