Not to hand I'm afraid - it was all I could do to squint at the tiny writing for the protein amounts (first on the list) without my glasses. But I'm happy with the response from Supreme Petfoods and the National Hamster Council recommends it for having all the required nutrients and good sized pieces.

I might try to figure them out later then for comparison.It can be difficult getting up to date ingredients and such online too,which makes it even worse It seems okay overall though,but I personally will be staying with the Higgins and Mazuri mixed diet since it is fairly good quality as well as working out to be quite affordable overall.

I think it would work out to be no more than 5 dollars a month currently since both products are currently on sale at Petco,which compared to most mixes at 8 dollars is fairly good.5 is technically if it lasts only 2 months though,which it supposedly would last longer than that so honestly it is one of the cheapest options currently and if it isn't on sale at Petco at some point it can easily be bought elsewhere for around 14 dollars anyways working out at under 4 dollars a month if it lasts for 4 months with some portions being frozen.

I think it comes down to personal preference sometimes. The Higgins and Mazuri sounds like a good mix for a Syrian. I know a lot of people in the US supplement with lab blocks.

The important thing is that Hazel and Harry Hamster don't contain BHA and BHT as was suggested, and are perfectly safe to use if people want to use them.

Definitely.In terms of Higgins products in general though,Vita Garden seems like it would be fine for a dwarf with Sunburst being better for Syrians.Both of course need lab blocks included due to the low protein though.

Maybe you could start a thread on the US mixes available - I think it could be useful. I just started this one to sort out some confusions about Harry and Hazel Hamster - I've had some confusions about them myself over the last few months so it's nice to have it sorted.

You seem to know a fair few US mixes and there are always people coming on asking what to feed in the US. I usually recommend Hazel Hamster as a go to because I don't know a lot of the others. Nancy and Dr McK seem to know a fair bit about the US mixes but sadly Dr McK isn't around on the forum at the moment. Nancy has been breeding for many years and I think she uses Higgins and others. If you started a thread on US mixes I'm sure they'd pop on and have some input as well.

Eventually I probably will,but I think for now figuring out some of the information for different foods is still a good idea.There's a lot of incorrect information out there saying certain foods are great when they're not exactly that good,among other things,but I do need to take more time to figure out what is in certain mixes that could make them good or bad and finding up to date ingredients as well poses a whole separate problem!

I shouldn't worry about it too much A ham's going to eat what a ham's going to eat - but high sugar content is best avoided and protein levels need to be right.

At the end of the day we could analyse a lot and find the perfect mix and find the hamster won't eat it. For Syrians I've found a lot of mixes have too many itty bits in that get left or end up at the bottom of the bag.

Not quite the same - you can bribe children lol! I spent far too much time making vegetables look like landscapes and saying broccoli was little trees on a mountain (mashed potato) only to be sussed out quite quickly. What worked was - eat your vegetables if you want some pudding.

True!Hams just do what hams want to do at the end of the day,while children can be bribed and persuaded

my hams devour the hazel hamster its the only food they aren't picky about
