Question Hamster food

After the passing of my hammies I have decided it is time to introduce a new furry friend into my life (pics of course will be posted once they are here).
With my last hammies I have fed a mix of harry hamster, burgess dwarf hamster harvest, science selective pellets and meal worms.
After the harry hamster recipe changed they seemed to go off it, did anyone else notice this? I was wondering what people feed their hammies and what add ins they use. (I'm going to be getting a syrian if that helps)
Thanks

The Harry Hamster seemed to have a lot of the wheat 'biscuits' in it, particularly in the last bag I bought and because my Chineseys refuse to eat it I've ended up throwing it away.

Burgess seems to be quite easy to get hold of and I can't speak for the non-dwarf version but the dwarf version seemed to have a lot of the canary seed the last time I bought it.

Choosing the right food is such a nightmare and there never seems to be such thing as the perfect food that comes straight out of the pack.

shawniyatwain you should have a look at the 'Has anyone ever made their own hamster food?' thread. It might give you some inspiration to make your own hamster food. I don't have a hamster yet but I'm planning on making my own food (look at the thread) although I do have some burgess dwarf as a back up.

I give my syrian ''Hamster Nature'' and my dwarf ''Mini Hamster Nature'' both by Versele-Laga. Anyone know if that is ok to give them? I never seen anyone else having these.

I've heard Versele-Laga is pretty good. Not sure what choices you would have in Sweden though,so can't help much on that one.As for the UK,not sure either, but the main priority of finding the right diet is the balance between good nutrition and good variety.

That seems quite ok. I will keep feeding them that, that is actually the only food I've bought. I also give them Brit Animal's Immune stick periodically. Have you heard about that?

What kind of dwarf ham do you have linneissen? That Mini Hamster Nature has quite a bit of fruit in it so wouldn't be ideal for one of the diabetes prone species, Russian hybrid, Russian Campbells or Chinese.
I have no idea what might be available in Sweden either but if you have some options we could have a look if you like.
The immune sticks look ok as an occasional addition, some fruit again but probably not too much.

Hmmm Zooplus foods are extremely low protein so I'll be checking into rat food as well, but so far nothing from Zooplus seems good on its own.

Quite a lot of ham foods need additional protein, especially for young hams but from zooplus (in the UK at least) The bunny dream dwarf mix is good & JR Farms isn't bad.
