Smile Peanut butter?

Hey peanut isn't chewing her chews such as a wooden bridge and her other chew and its just because her top teeth are a bit long so I thought I need to encourage her and so I thought maybe using peanut butter on it I just wondered everyone's views.

I wouldn't. Lots of salt & sugar and some contain xylitol too, which is an artificial sweetener that is toxic to animals.

Dog biscuits, peanuts in shells (monkey nuts) and hanging seed bars are good for getting them chewing and wearing their teeth down.

You could also try the wood chews with bark on, Rupert loves stripping the bark off those!

I don't use it regularly but I smeared a tiny bit of organic chunky peanut butter with no added salt or sugar in on a whimzee toothbrush and both my boys responded really well and munched on the toothbrush a bit. It didn't keep their interest once the peanut flavour had gone though! I think it's a bit oily for regular use and not very healthy and barley's ideas are great. My boys are a bit lazy about nuts in shells though and don't bother breaking in to them even if I make a hole first

Is your hammie a campbell dwarf or chinese? Those breeds of hamster are more prone to diabetes and therefor it's probably best not to risk it. Otherwise in very tiny quantities and very rarely it should be fine! Just keep an eye on your hammies poos afterwards. Hope that helps x
