Lightbulb What treat to give?

I want to try to give Bulma a fresh treat tomorrow evening when she gets up( I was going to give her a bit of egg tonight but I put pepper in without even thinking so no on that) but I'm not sure what I should choose! I have a selection of yummiest available as my fiance and I eat fairly healthy, and I have mice so I shop with small furries in mind I would love some advice on dos and donts on the list of yummies I have available or easily obtainable, as follows,

- carrots(we have whole carrots, should I dice or cut into sticks?)

- fresh kale leaves, on the stem

- celery

- lettuce(I've heard this is a no no for hamsters as well as mice but I thought I would check)

- cooked, non-seasoned chicken breast

- Sweet potatoes(cooked, non cooked??)

- Braeburn apples

- bananas

- organic, non sugared peanut butter puffs cereal

- organic spinach and kale puffs(baby food puffs)

- baby food, Apple or banana or mixed berry, possible chicken and rice( I work at target and it is inexpensive plus I have a discount, haven't heard much about baby food for hams but thought I would ask)

- organic peanut butter

Any of the above would be for her once or twice weekly treat, of course only one treat at a time I don't want to overfeed her or give her too much new stuff at once.

Your list of veg is fine, only small pieces so yes do chop the carrot into a little cube or stick, lettuce is ok as long as it's not iceberg just not too often.
Peanut butter is best avoided as it can get stuck in their pouches far better to give them a monkey nut to chew on!
Baby food with no sugar, spices, leek or onion is ok as a rare treat but is most often used for elderly or sick hams.
Fresh veg should be fed daily but get her used to it slowly.
Egg is ok as a rare treat but chicken unseasoned plain cooked can be given once or twice a week.
Not sure about the puffs but think you'd probably do better with something more natural like a sunflower or pumpkin seed tbh.

This is my veg list if it helps, I'm sure I've still forgotten a couple of things but it's fairly complete.

Safe veg, those marked * are relatively high in sugar so only feed to diabetes prone species as an occasional treat if at all.
Asparagus (mine have never liked this)
Basil
Broccoli
Brussels sprouts
Common or red clover
Cabbage, green or red
Carrot*
Cauliflower
Celery
Chard
Coriander
Courgette
Cress (not mustard & cress as commonly sold together)
Cucumber
Dandelion leaves & flowers
Endive/chicory
Green beans/runner beans
Kale
Pak choi/Bok choi
Parsley
Peas/mange tout/sugar snap/snow*
Peppers, any colour
Potato/sweet potato cooked only*
Radicchio
Spinach
Squash/pumpkin*
Swede
Sweet corn/baby corn*
Turnip

Wow thank you for the info! I think I'll go with a carrot to start, just a little bit, then maybe a day or so later give her a bit of kale!

What's kale?
I am going to try Sweep with his first bit of carrot on Sunday I think. Everyone in the house only eats raw carrots (no one likes cooked for some reason!) so he can have that too. Then if he likes it he can have another piece sometime next week, depending on when/if we are having carrots - need to work out next week's menus! All my hams have loved carrots! A couple also liked green beans - some cooked, some raw!

I think carrot has natural sugars in so may be not wise to give to dwarves.

Kale is a leafy green veggie that to me tastes like the grossest thing ever. Unless mixed in a smoothie or dipped in hummus. Bulma is a syrian, will a carrot be fine for her?

Hi Hamshak,
Our old Hammy Forrest would eat almost anything I gave him as a fresh treat, he adored cooked chicken...! Our new baby Pippin at the moment loves cucumber, kiwi fruit, blue berries, cooked petit pois, cooked sweetcorn, boiled egg white.
They also love sultanas and raisins, peanuts in their shells, hazelnuts .
DO NOT GIVE A HAMMY ALMONDS FARMED OR WILD OR APPLE PIPS they contain cyanide...!

I wait until they are very over ripe before using them and test them first, if too acidic then no.
