Its not your usual water bottle its the same as the one in the picture, and she trys licking the bit between the metal teat and plastic

I do worry that she'll run out of water quickly or bedding could soak it up and she'd have nothing to drink, she also fell in it which she wasnt happy about :S

Re: MY HAMSTER CNT USE HER WATER BOTTLE :/
I know quite a few hamsters have trouble drinking our of those bottles My ham drinks out of a bowl, I just keep it up on a platform when bedding won't get into it, and check on it to make sure everything's sound. If you really want her to use a bottle though you'd probably be best off replacing it with a regular style bottle (i'd recommend the 'classic' water bottles).

We have tried those bottles and really couldn't get on with them. The hamsters cannot seem to work them and they leak and are hard to refill too. If you leave the holder in place and put a normal spout through the hole in the cage then put an elastic band around the sippy holder and the bottle it holds a normal bottle nicely in place.

Re: MY HAMSTER CNT USE HER WATER BOTTLE :/
When I first got my hamster, she was struggling to drink (it seemed so anyway), and we realised it was designed specifically for rats, so the drinking bit of the bottle would of been quite strong.
We went into the pet shop, and they gave us a bottle designed for hamsters.
You could see if there are any bottles which are "easy to use" or if not, maybe make little puddles of water upon the cage platforms, (or in any suitable area) Also, if you see your hamster trying to drink out of the bottle, give it a little squeeze, so that your hamster can catch the drips.
Hope this may help a little!

my hamster couldn't use the Ferplast Sippy bottle either. I just got a normal bottle and use a wire to hook it onto the roof bars.

Re: MY HAMSTER CNT USE HER WATER BOTTLE :/
I got one of those bottles for my dwarf hammie when she had her babies and was in a tank and she never even attempted to use it, I had to make a climbing frame thing and attach her normal bottle to that in th end, there is obviously a fault with them if so many people are having problems with them.

It was really lucky that you posted this. I'm not getting my hamster until saturday but we got a bottle similar to this, I think we had better go and get another if everybody has problems with it.
