Sounds good to me barley. I`ve just took the plunge and ordered the Bunny Dream food, another bag of JR Farm Dwarf mix and some Chipsi-Classic shavings from Zooplus and with the £2.99p p&p, the total was £16.96p. I did need shavings though so I got the twin pack which will last me ages as I only do spot cleans! So money well spent really. Like you barley, I hesitate to spend money on things I don`t necessarily need so usually wait until I want to re-order or try something new. Makes the order worthwhile. Only having one dwarf hamster means it takes longer to get through supplies! x

Ok so overnight last night the bag of Mr Johnsons hamster food was in the kitchen, top rolled down. I went in there this morning and no word of a lie, the entire kitchen stank of this horrible sickly sweet smell from the food! I've picked the carrot slices and banana chips out to use as treats and thrown the rest away. I'm can't feed my hams something that smells so awful.

I called into the pet shop after work and picked up a bag of Burgess, am going to give it another go.

That sounds quite gross!
I'm always on the look out for good new foods & have tried a few I really didn't like, we live & learn I guess!
Burgess isn't my favourite mix but I do use it with the others so it's probably worth giving it another go.

You can`t really go wrong with Burgess although it contains a lot of flaked grains and alfafa still, I find it one of the `better` alternatives. I think that`s why I decided to turn to Zooplus again even though the cost is more. Buying foods in bulk (maybe three/four bags at a time) is more cost effective than paying something like £2.99p for a single bag of Burgess or supermarket food. x

I'll definitely try the Zooplus mixes when I next do an order. The cost isn't really a concern as hams are so tiny and eat so little anyway - and well, my dogs weekly food bill is more than my own, so I'm used to pets eating better than me

The Burgess will keep us going for a good couple of months as I add so many extras to it, and then it'll be about time to do another Zooplus order anyway

The Burgess is actually going down quite well, both seem to be enjoying it, so I think we're onto a winner for now

Really pleased to hear that barley. I never switch from the Burgess foods now because I find they are fine to feed on their own, or to `add` another mix in. It`s a good variety mix. I do `tap` the poultry biscuits smaller though as they are a round shape and I find they get eaten if they are made smaller. I`m talking about the ordinary Supahamster food though and not the Dwarf version as I don`t think the Dwarf version has the poultry biscuits in it?

My Zooplus order was cancelled twice by Zooplus so I won`t be using the Bunny Dream food after all. But it won`t matter anyway as Chubs enjoys what he gets now and when my JR Farm food is finished, I plan to buy the Burgess Dwarf food as an alternative. x

It's the ordinary Supahamster that I'm using. Joey used to leave all the biscuits in Harry Hamster and the pet shop mix I was using before this, but he seems to be eating the biscuits in the Burgess so I'm really happy. I used to worry he wasn't getting a balanced diet although he does get extras and Science Selective pellets too.

Oh no, that's a bummer about Zooplus! I still intend to try their mixes when I next do an order, but very happy with Burgess for now
