Have you looked into Higgins sunburst? It's a high quality mix, offers a lot of a variety and is free of artficial colours and preservatives, etc. For a young robo too, you'll want a higher protein content - up around 19/20% - so protein will need to be boosted.
The problem with Higgins is the higher fat content, so mealworms can't be used here. BUT you do have access to a wide range of lab blocks, so do give thecraftyrat a look and choose the highest protein Harlan Teklad block. The higher the protein content of the lab block, the less we will need to give you a boost thus it allows us to make the mix more seed heavy, and less block heavy
As a side note, these are come VERY common mistakes I see people make when it comes to constructing diets for their hamsters.
You CANNOT pick things out. This does not make it better in any way - in fact, it makes it worse. The food is calculated with *everything* present in the bag. When you go picking things out, you have no idea of the new GA and you're creating an unbalanced mix as a result - potentially throwing it off into unsafe levels, you'll really have no idea. Whatever's in the mix, stays in the mix. If there's something in there that you don't like, don't buy it and choose another mix that you prefer.
When mixing foods, you NEED to calculate the new GA. This is pretty easy to do, yet so many people don't bother with even trying and can make their hamster sick as a result. I'll give you a few examples to try and show you why calculating the GA is so Important:
Let's say you want to make a 50/50 mix and food 1 is a 13% protein mix! and food 2 is a 18% protein mix, ok?
While food 2 may be suitable on it's own, mixing it with food 1 makes it an unsuitable mix to be fed to your hamster without protein supplementation. Here's how:
13% x 50% = 6.5% (amount of protein food 1 is contributing to your mix)
18% x 50% = 9% (amount of protein food 2 is contributing to your mix)
So in all, by mixing these two together, your new mix is actually only 15.5% protein - so it's still lacking.
Seeing as we'll be mixing foods here, you'll also need to buy a weighing scales as food must be mixed by weight, and NOT volume which is another common mistake made my people contrusting mixed diets for their hamsters.
If you want to pick Higgins sunburst and Harlan Teklad I can help you construct a suitable diet for your robo and tell you the exact GA of the resulting mix.
