Maybe we feed too much in one go. I`ve been guilty of this and giving my Russian hybrid daily `top up`s` only to find most of it stashed! So I`ve learned to half what I feed him and check what`s still in the dish the next morning before I give more.

That's a good point and in light of what you said, I checked Madam's food stores. Thankfully she's only got the one at the moment and she'd stashed the sunflower seeds and some mealworms. Possibly in the hope that I'd see her food bowl and top it up so she doesn't have to eat the food she doesn't like so much.
In a way I don't blame her because I think I'd probably try the same thing.
