Default Dannon Light & Fit Yoghurt

Hello there,

I wanted to get some advice with regard to this yoghurt and help resolve some confusion from a facebook site I am on.

One of the members has advised that it is okay to give their hamster this yoghurt in small amounts and I am not too sure. I did think why give them that when there is plenty of other tasty and healthier foods around. Thoughts please.

Many thanks

It looks like there're quite a few varieties of that yoghurt, chances are some will be better for hamsters than others. Do you know what one was being discussed?

I routinely give my pets probiotic yoghurt when they're on antibiotics so I don't think a bit of yoghurt is necessarily a bad thing, you just need to check ingredients before feeding it.

That yogurt has chemically enhanced sugars(Chemicals which to human taste buds taste sweet). I myself would not give it to my hamsters as it may not cause immediate harm but long term it can and does cause cancers in the body. Plus most hamsters actually prefer a natural unflavored Yogurt over a flavored and chemically sweetened Yogurt.
