Frozen veg has been proven to be fresher than veg that is sold as `fresh` (not frozen) in shops. As long as it`s defrosted, or run under water for a few minutes, that`s usually enough to de-frost small pieces for a hamster. I hold them to my lips to feel if the coldness is gone and then feed it. Chubs usually smells it and pokes his head out of his tissue box and it disappears! x

I think frozen veg is usually believed to be fresher because it's packaged and frozen very soon after being picked where as the 'fresh' veg you get in the supermarkets has usually traveled for a few days to get there. I use both to be fair and my little ones are happy either way
As well as broccoli my Syrian Pumpkin loves parsley Although my dwarfs turned their noses up at it...

I tried my dwarfs with parsley too but they flatly refused to believe they were supposed to like it!
I'm guessing mine just prefer fresh over frozen because it's raw & crunchy!

I was in Lidl this morning and bought a packet of `Italian style lettuces`for £1.00, some of which have crinkly leaves, some smooth and other a purplish colour! Have put the pack in the fridge for Chubs and me to enjoy. He`s had a nibble already so I can add a small piece to his daily fresh food. Will go for a different one next time perhaps with grated carrot and cabbage etc... x
