I tried the Rodipet hybrid mix & mine weren't too keen tbh, they really don't seem to like the dried veg (although they love fresh) & there were some big almost whole nuts like walnuts in the mix which I didn't think was such a good idea, nuts like that really don't keep well out of the shell & one nut takes up a lot of one scoop of food!
Overall I'd say nutrients/ingredients are fairly good & healthy so it might be worth giving it a go.

That's not a bad idea, the JR mix goes down quite well with mine!

I never tried JR mix either as I only use Burgess, but I really want to try these two mixes ( JRs and Rodipet). I never made order from Rodipet, but the website is fantastic and the work and research that goes into everything is amazing.
Btw, I discovered website thanks to you Cypher, so thanks again!

My pleasure
If you're looking on Zooplus have a look at the Bunny dream mix too, that's quite a good one & my three approve!
I still use Burgess but I have to say it's the least popular.
I just did a Rodipet order & while I was at it thought I'd give this one a try too, not convinced it will be the best mix but it looks quite good & I like to give them a change now & then.

I have gotten my hamster (Mr. Carlisle) to eat the oxbow food and I also give him Hazel hamster food which he used to turn his nose up at as well. I've noticed he is slow to change as far as eating, but he eventually is coming around. (probably gets really hungry after a while.) I also bought a bag of dried mealworms which he also turned his nose up at, but I left them in the cage and I think he nibbled on a few of them. Any suggestions as to how often to give mealworms? (if any of you happen to use them....)

I generally give mine one or two mealworms a day unless they're having a mix that contains quite a lot of mealworms already that day, except Mickle who hates them!

Btw I didn't try these mixes yet.
I had the young hamster mix for Charlie which I started introducing by mixing it with Harry Hamster and I've been doing that until it was finished as he seems to prefer Harry Hamster but will eat some of the Rodipet mix if it is mixed in. Harry Hamster must smell nice or something! I've now got the adult hamster mix from Rodipet and it looks good. Again am mixing it with the Harry Hamster still. HH has some good sized biscuity pieces in which he seems to prefer size wise at least. The Rodipet adult one looks a lot better than others in that the sized pieces aren't too small but there are still little bits that are too small and end up being left - seeds etc.

I wouldn't bother with the Bunny dream mix it was full of very small bits and nothing to get your teeth into (so to speak) - ie the consistency didn't seem right.

I would like to make my own organic mix but it is going to take quite a bit of time and effort I think.

I think the Bunny dream dwarf & syrian mixes are very similar apart from the addition of apple & maybe something else I've forgotten so it may be better suited to dwarfs with the small pieces, mine think so anyway!
