Harry Hamster or Burgess Hamster Harvest?
I am undecided!
Which food would be best to feed a Syrian Hamster?
Burgess Hamster Harves or Harry/Hazel Hamster?
Also, how much is recommended to feed a Syrian hamster daily?
Thanks!!!

Could you buy both and mix them? Then you'd get the best of both worlds. If I was choosing just one I'd go for the burgess though

Re: Harry Hamster or Burgess Hamster Harvest?
I agree with kyril. I never liked Harry Hamster food even though for years it has been a staple diet and `recommended` by the Hamster council....or whatever it`s called nowadays!
The Supahamster has more variety and it appears more appetising. I even feed it to my dwarf hamster with his JR Farm dwarf mix and a few other goodies mixed in. x

Re: Harry Hamster or Burgess Hamster Harvest?
I think the Burgess one is supposed to be better as the others say. It still has soya in - they all seem to - which I don't like too much, but apparently they need it for protein. The ingredients generally seem better. I started weening Charlie off Harry Hamster onto a Rodipet mix a few months ago but have ended up giving half and half all the time as not too keen on the Rodipet mix and he still likes Harry Hamster.

Re: Harry Hamster or Burgess Hamster Harvest?
I've been using HH for a while but I like the look of the Burgess, especially the mealworms. I have a bag of each now so I'm probably just going to mix them 50/50 if the little miss likes it okay and maybe stick with the Burgess after that.
I did see someone somewhere (could have been here, could have been the other ham forum, could have been fb, who knows) say that HH has too many artifical colours? That wouldn't bother me at all but it might be an issue for some people.

I am switching my dwarf off of Harry hamster onto dwarf hamster harvest, with the he she refused to eat a lot of it and I had to add in p@h hamster nuggets which she ate before the hh bits that she doesn't like

I use Harry Hamster. I did buy a bag of Burgess but it was all powdery and Rupert didn't like it at all.

Re: Harry Hamster or Burgess Hamster Harvest?
There are flaked grains in Supahamster and poultry meal biscuits as well as some dry mealworms, pumpkin seeds/peanuts and black sunflower seeds. As a mix, I feel it offers more texture and variety. My Russian hybrid never eats the small extruded biscuits in the mix even though I always add a few in for him. But there is les waste. It also has dried banana chips that can be uses as treats if broken up smaller. Especially for diabetic prone species like hybrid Russians and Chinese. They are fine in moderation. x

Re: Harry Hamster or Burgess Hamster Harvest?
Have had HH and now Fluffy is on the pet shops stuff that they weigh out. Was thinking of trying something else. I can't remember what Asda has and the Pets at Home here only has their own brand ham food.
