Science Selective Hamster

Science Selective Hamster This stuff. Anyone else think they should make bigger bags of this hamster food? I see they make bigger bags for all the other animal foods they do, I even emailed them once to see if they would do a bigger bag. I did get a response saying they didn't do anything bigger at this time but they would let me know in the future.

Sort of irritating since I use this as regular food for all my hamsters if I could get a bigger bag I could save some money in the long run. Right now getting it every two weeks or something, just a thought as I would love a bigger bag of hamster food. I do give them a Hamster mix sometimes as a treat, as I want to discourage picky eating.

I have a single bag of the SS biscuits as I find them really handy to have either as a supplement to my hamster`s main diet which is Burgess Supahamster and also currently the JR Farm dwarf food. I like the fact that the SS biscuits can be broken up smaller, or made into a mash for older or ill hamsters as it is a complete food and prevents the need to buy baby food.

Having only one Russian male, I find the bag large enough, but if I had more than one hamster a larger bag would be more cost effective. x

All three of them love the science selective, they do also get the freeze dried mealworms, veggies, some chicken and the occasional Hamster mix to make it different. Currently got them some millet sprays, Lunar spits the shells in to his sand bath. Also seed treats and toothbrush chews, so they get a good mix just by what I feed them. Local pet stores don't sell much in complete diet foods other than this and mixes, I really would love a bigger bag since I got three to feed.

I tend to agree. At the moment the size of the bag is adequate for feeding my elderly Chinese boy but were I having to feed more than one then I'd probably be thinking that a bigger bag would be more cost effective too. The only issue I have was that it wasn't easy for me to find it in most of my local pet shops and I'd have had to factor in delivery costs if I'd have ordered it online but thankfully one of the pet shops offered to add it to their supplier order for me.

I can get regular hamster mix, but getting dwarf mix is actually harder to find. Local pet shops sell SS as part of their regular stock, I like to avoid picky eating so its good for that. Plus with three all who love the food and can't get enough of it I really do need a bigger bag, so for me its just a shame they only do the small bag compared to rats, rabbits and guinea pigs who get at least three different sizes.

I use SS for both my chinese and my Syrian and they love it! Since the switch the Syrian - who is elderly - has regained some gloss in his coat and gets far more perked up for food (before I rescued him he was on cheapo stuff). Personally, the bag has lasted a while but a bigger bag wouldn't be amiss.
