5000 live mealworms!!

Yup. You read right. I recently bought 5000 of the little creepy crawlies. Now I'm gonna feed them to my hams little by little. XD

If they're alive do you need to feed them? Are they like 5000 extra semi-permanent pets?

Yup. I have 5 lbs of wheat bran to feed them with, and then I toss in a couple of baby carrots every few days as their water source. I plan on having the ones I can't feed off turn into beetles and then breed, lay eggs, and make a new mealworm generation. They are currently living in a 5 gallon kritter keeper.

Oh dear I couldn't do that! I'd get attached to the little worms and especially the beetles! We had a bit of a beetle problem in our flat when we first moved in (previous tenants were dirty gits and left food everywhere, ugh) and I couldn't kill a single one, beetles are so cute

yet I still eat meat and love little baby cows and pigs, I'm such a terrible hypocrite :/ it's a great idea tho Holly, I hope you keep up updated

remind me never to give you jelly babies... you'd bite their heads off, encourage interbreeding... or worse... let them turn into beetles!!
