Poll - black logs in Harry Hamster food
So - does anyone's Hamster actually eat the black logs in the Harry Hamster mix? If you are from the US and use Hazel Hamster and if that also has black logs in it, then you can vote too!
Sorry, the last line should say he/she.

Re: Poll - black logs in Harry Hamster food
I feed a mix of foods to mine, including Harry Hamster, and all of them have them in them. They're alfalfa and taste disgusting. I tried one to see what the fuss was all about. Never had a hamster that's eaten them.

Re: Poll - black logs in Harry Hamster food
I voted no as 3 out of my 4 don't usually eat them. If I'm feeling a bit mean I leave them in and only give them a very small amount of food they will eat them (or maybe just hide them somewhere).
My Syrian (other 3 are dwarf hamsters) will eat pretty much anything and everything. She doesn't seem picky at all, so she eats a range of mixes that all have these in and eats the pelleted selective science or whatever it's called without any fuss.

Re: Poll - black logs in Harry Hamster food
I feed a mix of Hazel Hamster and a seed/nut blend, and if too many of those vile black logs wind up in the bowl they get launched out of the cages with extreme prejudice. If it's just one or two their existence is ignored with dignity and they either get dumped in the toilet corner (Boo) or set in a small pile next to the food bowl (Cub).

Re: Poll - black logs in Harry Hamster food
My robo won't touch them, and leaves them in her food bowl every morning. She also refuses to eat the brown, rectangular pellets, the diva xD
My syrian will take them to her nest, but I think she only eats one once in a while, as it seems I clean a lot of them out when I clean her nest.

We use Hazel Hamster and neither hamster will touch the black logs.

I saw CeeCee pick one up and nibble it today and nearly died of shock. She didn't eat all of it but still, so weird

Re: Poll - black logs in Harry Hamster food
I give my Syrian hammies Hazel Hamster, but they both also get lab blocks, so nutritionally they are covered. My wee one, Almond gets ecotrition because of the smaller seed. But Almond also gets the lab blocks just like my Syrians. They really should get rid of the black logs.
My shoulder is still bad, but I just had to post on this thread.
