Both lol. I make sure the microwave is clean before I start so I can sweep them all up and keep them. Loads stay on the cob, it's really quite cool.

I have never given human fresh made/or packet popcorn to hamsters before, can't see harm in fresh made sweetened/unsalted popcorn though. mine i gave special hamster popcorn, they come in a packet as corn on cobs - but they are like mini corn on cobs that you then put in the microwave to pop them.
The look like this so not like the big yellow ones you hang up in the cages
