Just don't pick it from the very edge of the field where a dog could of cocked his leg whilst walking past it

Re: wheat/oat sprays in the uk?!
I'm just trying to imagine but wouldn't it have to be a tall dog to reach the ears at the top!
It doesn't look the same as the oat sprays but have you thought about the boredom breakers Naturals Pick `n` Fly ? My hams loved that.

Re: wheat/oat sprays in the uk?!
I have the rose feast for Freya. She loves the wheat (loves making a mess!) and there are mallow flowers too which she loves, takes them to her nest and I think just decorates with them hahaha. the roses get ignored, as yet I've not tried the apple as I have a massive bag that isn't flower scented i'm getting through lol

Re: wheat/oat sprays in the uk?!
Hi Nicola.
I have some if you want them. Not many. I had some bird seed mix and they scattered on the ground around the bird table and grew into wheat. I looked today and they had dried to wheet heads and straw. I no longer have your address. Can you please email me your address again and I will post them. Thanks. They are organic as they were grown at the top of my garden and I dont use fertiliser or anything. I didnt even water them. lol.

Re: wheat/oat sprays in the uk?!
I just forgot they were growing up the top of the garden around the bird table. After reading this today, I remembered there was some wheat growing and I checked and it was resembling straw. It was ready to harvest.
I didnt water them nor add any additives or anything. I just let mother nature grow them. Its the only way they would grow. I dont have green fingers. lol

Re: wheat/oat sprays in the uk?!
Lol neither do i, im thinking of planting some seeds now though in one of the side planters. Just had our garden landscaped and have a narrow stretch of soil that i were going to plant some of those decorative grasses in. How long do you think the wheat would take to grow?

Re: wheat/oat sprays in the uk?!
I have no idea of how long it takes to grow. I saw a bit of grass growing around the bird table in the spring time. They grew to be wheat and I just left it. I would say from March / April to Sept time, around 5 months.
When you get them, you will see what they look like and if you see wild bird seed with it in and it isnt cheap, you could get some and take thie seeds out to plane and gve the rest to the hams. I am thinking of doing it. The top of my garden might resemble a farmers field. lol

Re: wheat/oat sprays in the uk?!
I have just googled the growing time and here is one answer. I say, not in my garden. lol
How long does wheat take to grow?
Approximately 120 days (two quarters), however; certain 'space-bred' hybrid crosses can develop in half that time, US-Apogee for example. Wheat grows best with channel irrigation and moonlight.
Here is a site about the growing of them.
