Ok so ive tried twice and both times their email address came back with a failure. Not very helpful! Ill try and locate someone else selling it under flower arranging.

Re: wheat/oat sprays in the uk?!
Email must have somehow still got to them. Here's their reply. (which was very quick i must say!)
Hi Nicola,
Many thanks for the enquiry.
The crops are not organic, (fertiliser and herbicides are used), however grown primarily for food and all within UK regulations.
I hope this helps.

Re: wheat/oat sprays in the uk?!
So theyre naturally dried but fertilizers have been used. Does this mean theyre not safe for hams? I know when growing cat grass etc you're not supposed to use soil with fertilizers added.

Re: wheat/oat sprays in the uk?!
If they're grown for food I'd say that's no different than giving them veg or hamster food that isn't organically grown which most if not all of us do. So should be safe enough I guess.

Re: wheat/oat sprays in the uk?!
A 2nd email from them said the following:
No problems - I would not expect problems- all good for human consumption. Also should add that there is no post harvest treatment.
Ive just looked on ebay as well searching for 'dried wheat' theres a few people selling it. I might give some a try

Re: wheat/oat sprays in the uk?!
I got this from P@H when I got Hector. It was an "argh, I'm getting him today the cage is set up but I have no treats, grab everything!!!!" purchase Although it is predominantly rose, there is a good dose of wheat ears in it. Possibly worth trying to see if your ham likes it?

Re: wheat/oat sprays in the uk?!
I really like that rose feast. Will definately be buying that when im next at P@H.
Yeah i think im going to order the wheat sprays, i want a kind of planted natural look so would like to dot quite a few of these about the cage. Postage on that site is £4.95 though so im going to see if i can find them cheaper elsewhere. Theres some on ebay for £6.25 but i need to message to make sure they haven't been treated and are safe for consumption.

Re: wheat/oat sprays in the uk?!
Just received a message back from the ones on ebay and was told they are fumigated after harvest and are not food safe as for decor purposes only. Looks like theres just them at the dried flower farm. I so wish i could just buy a bunch for a couple of quid from a local shop!

Re: wheat/oat sprays in the uk?!
I tend to just pick some from the farmers fields as I pass walking the dogs, oops
(must admit though I've never given it to the hamsters, I pick it for the parrots )
