Default Kaytee Forti-Diet and Oxbow Essentials

I've been feeding Rosie a combination of Kaytee Forti-Diet and Oxbow Essential "Healthy Handfuls". Rosie is a picky eater and I'm happy to have found something she likes! Do you guys think that's an okay diet? She also gets a little piece of fresh veggie (usually carrot or green pepper) every night, and occasionally a blueberry.

If you list the protein, fat, fiber percentages, that may be most helpful.

Rosie, make sure there's no garlic, onion, onion powder, leeks, garlic powder in the ingredients. I'm believe there is a brand of hamster food that has an onion type of product listed in the ingredients. You don't want to fed your hamster any foods that have garlic, onion, leeks.

Here's the Kaytee:
Kaytee Forti-Diet Hamster/Gerbil

I couldn't find an online page for the Oxbow Essentials food, but I can get up the nutrition facts soon from the bag I have. It seems to be a highly recommended food!

Oxbow essentials is good. I'm sure the kaytee is good, as long as it doesn't have garlic/onion.- just noticed it has molasses..

The protein in the a kaytee is a bit low.. I try for 15-17% protein. Others may chim in, on their thoughts, tho.

Rosie, is your ham a Syrian or dwarf? I read the ingredients in the kaytee, it has molasses. I try to stay away from ham foods that have sugary additives. Have you tried Hazel Hamster food? It's sugar free. Some hamsters don't like it, some do. I break some of the larger pieces, or my ham won't eat the bigger pieces-- I also mix Sunseed hamster/gerbil food, for smaller seed variety, and Oxbo. My Syrian is very picky, when it comes to hamster foods. Of course she loves the higher sugar hamster foods, but i try to avoid those types.
I'm not sure how much molasses is added to the kaytee.

I also feed Harlan Tekland rodent block food- I have that in a little bowl, due to my hamster can be very stubborn, and not eat the mixed hamster food, or pick out certain pieces, and leave the rest, or not eat at all for a few days..

She's a Syrian. No I haven't tried The Hazel hamster food yet but I've heard about it. My pet store doesn't sell it but I guess I could probably buy online.

I'd hate for you to switch her, if she is eating the kaytee food, but concerned about the molasses.
The hazel Hamster, can be purchased from amazon, if you decide to try it, and if you do decide to try it, gradually wean her off the kaytee.
