Default Green Apple?

i just gave my hammy a small bit of green apple to eat and he loved it! but now i'm worried because one of my friends said that maybe it would be a bit too acidic for him and i should give him a bit of banana instead. but he's already eaten the green apple slice...will this make him sick?

He will be fine. First time only give a bit the size of a fingernail. I think it is better to stick to the sweeter apples as the green ones are very sour. We don't give banana as it can go yucky very quickly though we do give dried banana chips as a treat.

well good news, i've checked his droppings everday after feeding him 2/3 pieces of veg a day, 4 times a week (Along with dry food) and his has not had any problems, so i'm happy with it! so far, he is looking healthy after eating the apple, but from now on if i do give him fruit it will be other fruits that wont be acidic so i dont fret about him reacting badly to it.

apple is fine - the main issue with fresh food is that because hamsters like to store their food it can be stored in their beds and go mouldy it certainly shouldn't stop you from offering fresh food as it makes their diet more interesting

I am forced to eat an apple each week now so Toby can have a piece. LOL! I was left with 99% of a carrot the other day, not knowing what to do with it! Toby sure is helping me be healthier!
