Default baby food for hamster**update free baby rice**

because my mums a health visitor it means she get sent lots of baby food and baby rice to promote companies. however it normally goes to waste as we have no babies in the house and she doesnt like to give it out at work, but since reading comments on this forum i would now like to feed it to my hamster. just two little questions. is all baby food and baby rice ok for hamsters? and how much should i feed each time?
xx

All of my robos get about a table spoon of organic baby rice once (sometimes twice) a week whilst the robos with litters get an almost constant supply of the stuff as it really gives the babies a good boost in life! Pregnant robos get a fair share of the stuff, generally I give more the closer to dropping the litter they are.

The syrian gets a tiny bit once a week as well, I tend to give him more veg than protein foods!

Hope this helps at all x

The baby rice is ideal for old and young hammies. We find the adults don't eat it so much as the young ones. The prefer it made with a bit of lactol puppy/kitten milk. The other baby food is fine as long as it does not contain onion, garlic or citrus fruits and ours enjoy it once or twice a week for adults and daily for babies and oldies.

as i put earlier my mum gets sent free Hipp organic baby rice
it contains no added milk products and no added sugar
the best before date is 11/2008
ingerdients - organic rice flakes 100%, thiamin(vitamin B)
i have around 20 sachets of the rice each weighing around 25 grams each. if any of you are interested in having some you can PM me your address and the amount you of sachets want and i will be happy to send you some we have no use for the amount left as i only have one hamster.
also we have loads and i mean loads of vouchers for 30p of Hipp organic baby food which last till 31/12/2009!!
which i will be happy to send out to you with the baby rice.
hope you may find this helpful

Thank you! What a great idea to send for free samples. That is more than enough of what I need for one Syrian.
