Default Help still not drinking water

I've only seen Fluffy drink twice from his bottle since getting him last Thursday, he drank on Saturday. Of course he could be drinking when I'm not watching but we have marked his bottle and the water levels aren't going down. I also provided a bowl of water but I don't think he drank from it so I took it away because I'm scared of him drowning in it which is probably stupid because they don't get a bottle in the wild do they! He isn't interested in the veg or fruit I have provided except for nibbling around the edge to eat the skin off the cucumber slice. I finally bought some Romaine lettuce today so I will try him on that when he wakes up.

He is about 10 weeks old, I was wondering if other people with young Syrians could tell me how much water their hamster drinks in a day so I can compare, thanks.

If he is still active and alert then he is drinking enough for his needs. Dehydrated hamsters are quite ill looking and acting so he must be getting plenty. He likely drinks during the night. Young syrians take very little water. and some cucumber skin will actually be enough!
Check the spout every day to ensure water comes out.
Remember they are desert animals and their kidneys are designed to function on very little fluid.

Thanks Souffle! He is active, he loves his new wheel. I did see him do a wee yesterday so was hoping that was a good sign. Because he is so fluffy with his long fur it's hard to tell if he is looking well as such. I do check the spout of the bottle and it's OK.
