Question Non toxic wood sticks?

Hello--

I would like to set up An " natural" habitat-
Would Willow and apple tree sticks/branches
Be safe to use? Does anyone know if Pear
Tree branches and drift wood, are safe for hammys?

Willow, apple, and pear are all safe woods though I would wash and bake them in a low oven (200F for 1-2 hours, depending on thickness) to kill pathogens. Not so sure about driftwood since it will have been soaking in saltwater for ages and in your case, possibly exposed to oil from the spill
