What's in the bowl today?
Aside from their normal mix and water I try to give my hammies something extra every day, whether that's a little piece of cucumber, a yoghurt drop or even a mealworm or two. I thought it might be a nice idea to have a thread where other people can talk about what they have given their hamsters each day and maybe find out some new ideas
Today my hamsters have had a special treat of some vegetable, chicken and rice baby food and a few coriander leaves. Seems to have gone down well with my hybrid boys, the others are still asleep

Today Popcorn had his usual mix plus some small bits of dried carrot and banana, a few extra sunflower seeds and a small amount of mashed sweet potato which he loved licking from my finger

Re: What's in the bowl today?
Today Ligeia will be having a couple of peas. It's so cute watching her eating them as they look so big in her paws. She loves them. The gerbils will be getting peas too. I've not tried her with coriander leaves or sweet potato. I will add them to the list.

Re: What's in the bowl today?
oo I've never thought to try mine with sweet potato, not normally a veg we have that often. I shall have to go recipe hunting to justify buying some for the hamsters to share lol

Re: What's in the bowl today?
A good recipe is shepherds pie but instead of normal mash use sweet potato, it's delicious! Obviously cool it down before giving any of the mash to the fluffs

Re: What's in the bowl today?
Little Stitch is diabetic so now in her bowl she has the following:
Harry Hamster (without all corn, sunflower seeds and peas)
Mealworms
Chia seeds
Tofu
Fenugreek seeds
Linseed/flaxseed
Spirulina
We also put in a hazelnut as today's treat.
She eats better than we do! :P

Re: What's in the bowl today?
Edwin got a blueberry as well as his regular food tonight, Sheldon had a millet stick because it was his birthday on Friday and I forgot >.< so he had that as an extra with his food and baby Willow is a Chinesey so I'm avoid fruit and sugary stuff with her. She got extra mealworms with her food to help with her growth

Today we had some live waxworms, a few flax stems and some pumpkin seeds.
Along with the usual mix of course.
