Default Ears of Wheat for hammies?

I was wondering if the Wheat ears sold on Zooplus would be okay for all hammies?

Zooplus sells ears of wheat?! I've been looking for those as my harvest mice and dwarfies enjoyed the ones I found at Houten. Thanks for sharing

Yeah, they are JR Farm and I think they show under Rabbit rather than Hammy/Rodent. I thought they would be okay, had ordered the set of four treat packs and they were part of it, along with oat stalks (I think)....they do them separately too I have now found.

Just tried them on all my hams and seems a unanimous success.

Glad to be of service....

Here they are:

JR Farm Nibble Ears: Great Deals on Natural Small Pet Snacks at zooplus

*Writes down good for Amy & Tino*

I love the look of these too as a healthy biscuit alternative, but with just two small mouths to feed they would not used unless they come with a year plus use by date lol

http://www.zooplus.co.uk/shop/small_.../jr_farm/14374

They are also the only place I can find natural Dari cobs which hams & mice love also:

Silver

I have found Dari cobs come with Flax/pods (Linseed( and panicle millet (I asked Rosewood especially)...meant for parrots though....called "Pick and Fly". I get it online from Amazon and ebay but I think it is available from a variety of online pet stores.

The Flax pods are particularly popular....shredded in seconds!

With regard to the wheat it does indicate that more than one stalk of wheat can be given each week, I think the dates are very good too so 50 would be possible to get through before they go out of date, and they are not huge stalks.

I will see if I still have the pack of "bouquet" I got mine in to see what use by/best before date they gave (I decanted into a lock and lock to keep fresh)..

Thank You Slatted that is very helpful,

I have seen the Picknfly but could not see any where what else was with the Dari Cob so that is brilliant I now know mine love linseed & millet also.

Good news on the wheat too

Thank You, it will be very helpful to know what type of dates they come with, it would not be a problem if I had more mouths to feed lol.

I was surprised about the lack of information on the Picknfly which is why I decided to email them instead....they did say was seasonal but 99% of the time that is what it would be with the other items.

My pack of Wheat etc expires in July 2014 so that is well over a year...so sounds possible.
