So shocked!!!!!
Just sorted out my boxes of hamster bits - as you do lol - and found that some of the milky bines dog biscuits were MOLDY!!!! How on earth did that happen??? Good thing I spotted them before I gave any to Belle! Wish I'd taken a photo to show you, but I've thrown them away ... I didn't even know they could go moldy! And they were still in date too!

Re: So shocked!!!!!
I don`t know what would have caused the mould to grow but biscuits in general can go soft if exposed to air. It could be that they have got moist? Or been a bad batch? I never feed dog biscuits to my boys. I did attempt it once from some odd shaped biscuits my pet shop kindly gave me that were broken when they were doing pre-weighed bags to sell but my hamsters didn`t care for them at all. They were the `shapes` dog biscuits that come in different colours.
But having read some articles since about hamsters developing itchy skin when they have been fed dog biscuits or cat/kitten products, it only strengthened my view on the reasons why I don`t feed them.

Re: So shocked!!!!!
I have found these the most likely to go mouldy if left open to the air. All my hamsters's dog biccies are kept in an airtight biscuit jar and I've had no more mould incidents since and they don't go soft either.
