Tom, if he has diarrohea you must be careful of wet tail as he is new to you.

If his bottom area really looks wet, and the diarrohea is severe, he will need an urgent visit to the vet. It is a very serious illness.

If he has just had a couple of looser poops, it could be youve been feeding him too much fresh food. Stop feeding any fresh food for a while and when you do introduce some again, do it very slowly, tiny bits at a time.

As for dry food, Harry Hamster, which you can get from Wilkos in town, is a really good hamster food.

Hope he picks up soon, but I need to stress this to you Tom, if he seems unwell (hunched up, moving awkwardly) or has got a wet bottom area, please dont put off going to the vet - he may need some treatment, and wet-tail is often fatal if not caught very very early.

Yes Tomsudz stop the greens etc right away. Spud's mum is right and he is at the age when they are very prone to wet tail with the stress of moving home. Sometimes though it is just due to a change in diet and too much fresh food. Make sure you do not over handle him just now as he needs to settle and stick with dry food for now. Don't wait if he still has diarrhoea as they can go downhill very quickly and the weekend is coming up too. All the best for him and keep us posted.

Cabbage can cause problems with looseness. Take it all out and stick with the dry food for now. When you restart in about 10 days give him a teeny bit the size of a finger nail at first but only every two or three days. Try different things and if he gets loose again don't give that again. Make sure he is not storing fresh food as it can go bad and cause upsets.

I hope not wet tail too Tom - maybe all those veggies just got too much for him.

Just in case he does get worse - Vets for Pets on Scartho Rd has a Saturday morning surgery.

Hopefully you'll never need to know that, but as I am local too, and not around tomorrow, Id rather tell you now, in case a visit is necessary.

Get well soon little noname
