Default help...

please help me I just got a hamster off the street, I got him in my old mouse cage and need some help, what is the best food and treats for my little one.

did you find a hamster??

i love harry hamster as its the best but currently im trying to shop around. cover him or her in a towel over the cage for a while make sure it has water and leave him to rest

yeah it was in the gutter in the street thought it was a mouse
only when got him in a box saw it was a hamster,
he is in my old mouse cage a habitrail ovo loft and pod put a hot towel from the radiator over his cage for now, gonna call him roxas looks like a baby but he is so bitey.
Got a water bottle and bowl in there incase he cant use a bottle.

uhm more questions substrate is wood shavings alright?
also where do you guys get your hammy stuff any cheap stores you can recommend

yeah woodshavings is fine. hes very lucky you found him my brothers hamster escaped a few weeks ago and was never found

I would say give him several days to calm down with a clean cage, food, and water. How big is the cage that you have?

its a habitrail ovo loft with a extra pod suite and some mazes and stuff think I need to calm down to so worried about the little guy

That is a baby hamster in the picture. Probably about 6-8 weeks. Have you asked around in case a neighbour has lost him?
He will be frightened for now so try and leave him to settle in quiet then start taming him slowly and gently.
There are taming tips on the WIKI (on the left of the forum)
Shavings are fine and ripped loo roll for a bed. You can use cardboard boxes and tubes as toys.
Don't have too many tubes just now as it can be hard to tame a ham that jams itself in a tube.
I hope he settles soon and tames well x
