Question Is this okay for a dwarf to eat?

I went to PetsCo and picked up a bag of LM Animal Farms Brand for hamsters and gerbils to feed him. He is only a few weeks old too. It seems there are sunflower seeds and corn in it. Is it okay for a dwarf or will it cause Diabetes? Also how much food should I put in his dish each day?;

Er... I'd personally get a hamster specific mix, they're likely to be closer to the nutritional requirements of a hamster (not that any US brand I know of is perfect).

I'd feed a teaspoon per day and not refill if theres still quite a bit there.

We feed ours a normal mix despite the risk of diabetes. Or two of them anyway. The other two are on a sugar free mix, but since we can't feed all of them that mix we decided its better to have a balanced diet and risk diabetes (which not every hamster will get) than give an unbalanced diet and risk health issues from that.

Should be. It won't be the best nutritionally but sadly the US lacks a properly balanced hamster mix anyway

Er... I'd get a larger cage. Thats smaller than anyone on here would advise and it might be that he can't manage the tubes and stuff to get to the wheel very easily.

Find out what kind of treats he likes and stash some up there. Or I just tap on stuff I want Hadley to notice

dwarves aren't as good at climbing vertical tubes as Syrians so I figure that's probably why yours hasn't found the wheel yet. I agree with Sam though; what you should do is actually get a bigger cage. you could make one from a storage bin for much cheaper than you can buy a proper cage big enough!

Wait that cage isn't THAT small, its a picture of amazon with someones Syrian hamster in it. Its a nice size for dwarfs, I would never put them in something too small that's cruel lol.
